Fraunhofer Institute for Mechanics of Materials IWM
Particle-based simulations for your applications
The scientists of the Fraunhofer Institute for Mechanics of Materials IWM at Freiburg in south-west Germany are responsible for the ongoing development of SimPARTIX®, and for providing the necessary support.
Research for practical applications is the central assignment for the Fraunhofer organisation. Founded in 1949, this research body pursues application-oriented research for the benefit of industry and society. Our partners and clients are industrial companies, service providers and the public sector.
All the thematic challenges that the Fraunhofer IWM poses itself are approached through the material in the first place and the question of how the material properties and the component behavior change as a result of technology- or application-related mechanical, thermal, chemical or electrical loads. To master these challenges, the Fraunhofer IWM can draw on its core competencies in material and component characterization, material modeling and simulation, and interface and surface technology.
